AXL Advanced

AXL Advanced is an American manufacturer specializing in premium tactical gear upgrades, plate carrier accessories and modular load-bearing equipment. The brand develops components that improve the functionality, comfort and compatibility of existing tactical setups. Unlike brands focused primarily on complete plate carriers, AXL Advanced is particularly known for developing innovative components that allow users to upgrade equipment they already own. Its product range includes cummerbunds, shoulder pads, placard adapters, MOLLE accessories, belt components and plate carrier conversion systems.

AXL Advanced is best known for products such as the Equinox Cummerbund, Structural Shoulder Pads, Adaptive Vest Placard (AVP), Eclipse Belt, Tubes Adapters and various plate carrier upgrade components. Many AXL products are designed specifically to improve popular tactical gear platforms from manufacturers such as Crye Precision, Spiritus Systems, Ferro Concepts, Shaw Concepts, FirstSpear and Velocity Systems.

The AXL Advanced Equinox Cummerbund is a lightweight structural cummerbund designed to improve stability and load distribution on compatible plate carriers. It combines a rigid construction with MOLLE/PALS mounting space and FirstSpear Tubes quick-release hardware. One of the main advantages of the Equinox is its broad compatibility — depending on the required adapters, it can be integrated with popular plate carriers including the Crye Precision SPC, JPC and AVS, Spiritus Systems LV-119, Shaw Concepts ARC and selected Ferro Concepts carriers. This makes the Equinox a popular upgrade for users who want to improve their existing plate carrier without replacing the complete system.

Yes. AXL Advanced produces several upgrades for Crye Precision plate carriers, including the JPC, SPC and AVS platforms. Depending on the carrier, AXL offers solutions for upgrading the cummerbund, adding placard compatibility, integrating FirstSpear Tubes and improving other parts of the carrier. Products such as the Equinox Cummerbund and Adaptive Vest Placard are commonly used to modernize existing Crye Precision setups. Compatibility varies between carrier generations and individual AXL components, so the requirements for each product should always be checked before ordering.

Yes. Several AXL Advanced upgrades are compatible with the Spiritus Systems LV-119 Plate Carrier. One of the most popular combinations is the AXL Equinox Cummerbund with the Spiritus Systems LV-119, providing a structural cummerbund with FirstSpear Tubes quick-release functionality. AXL also produces shoulder and load-bearing upgrades that can be used with compatible Spiritus Systems configurations.

Yes. Cross-brand compatibility is one of the main strengths of AXL Advanced. Many products are specifically developed to connect, upgrade or improve tactical equipment from other manufacturers. Depending on the individual component, AXL equipment can be used with products from Crye Precision, Spiritus Systems, Ferro Concepts, Shaw Concepts, FirstSpear, Velocity Systems, Mayflower, S&S Precision, LBT, Eagle Industries and other tactical gear brands. Some combinations require an AXL adapter or retrofit component, so compatibility should always be checked for the specific plate carrier and accessory.

The AXL Advanced Structural Shoulder Pads are plate carrier shoulder pads designed to improve comfort and load distribution, particularly when carrying heavier equipment. Their structural construction helps distribute pressure across the shoulders while providing additional stability to the carrier. Integrated routing also helps organize communication cables, hydration tubes and other equipment. The Structural Shoulder Pads can be used with numerous popular plate carriers, making them a practical upgrade for users looking to improve the comfort of an existing setup.

The AXL Advanced Adaptive Vest Placard (AVP) is an adapter system designed to add modern placard functionality to compatible tactical vests and plate carriers. This allows users to attach compatible SwiftClip-style placards and chest rig components to platforms that may not originally have been designed around modern placard systems. Different AVP configurations are available for specific carriers, making it possible to modernize an existing setup while continuing to use the original plate carrier.

Yes. AXL Advanced offers several products designed around the Crye Precision AVS and related Crye platforms. These can provide additional placard compatibility, cummerbund options and other improvements while retaining the AVS as the foundation of the setup. This makes AXL Advanced particularly relevant for Crye AVS owners who want to modernize or customize individual parts of their carrier rather than move to an entirely different system.

Yes. AXL Advanced also develops tactical belt systems and belt accessories. The Eclipse Belt is one of the brand's best-known belt platforms and is designed to provide a lightweight, rigid and modular foundation for first-line equipment. It can be configured with equipment such as magazine pouches, an IFAK, dump pouch, holster and utility pouches, allowing users to build a belt setup around their individual requirements.

AXL Advanced manufactures its tactical equipment in the United States. The company states that its products are designed, cut and assembled at its own facility, giving AXL direct involvement in both product development and manufacturing.

Gear Town offers AXL Advanced tactical gear in Europe, with stock in the Netherlands and shipping throughout the EU. This makes it easier for European customers to purchase AXL Advanced products without ordering directly from the United States. AXL Advanced is particularly useful when you already own a quality plate carrier but want to improve specific parts of the system. Instead of replacing the complete carrier, components such as the cummerbund, shoulder pads, placard interface or quick-release system can often be upgraded individually. This modular approach makes AXL Advanced a strong option for building a customized tactical setup around existing equipment while maintaining compatibility with established plate carrier platforms.
