The original Swift Portable Gearstand was developed with direct input from end users and with the involvement of faculty and midshipmen from the United States Naval Academy, where multiple prototype generations were built and tested over a two-year development period. The OG Gearstand

The Swift Hook delivers the same storage concept in a significantly smaller and lighter package, compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand when stowed.

Rather than standing on its own, the Hook hangs from any suitable support point: a hook in a locker, a rail in a vehicle, a beam in a field position or a bar in a range shed. Its arms deploy in either a flat or angled position, with an extra-wide design that increases the air gap between the carrier's back panel and the hanging surface to improve airflow and drying.

At 0.4 kg and 22.1 cm stowed length, the Hook disappears into a range bag, deployment bag or vehicle kit with no meaningful weight or space penalty. Load capacity is 45 kg, slightly higher than the OG, making it capable of holding even the heaviest loaded carriers.

OG Gearstand vs Swift Hook: Which One

The OG and the Hook solve slightly different problems. The OG is the better choice when you need a standalone storage station, in an equipment room, at a permanent position or anywhere you want your loadout displayed and accessible without needing a fixed hang point. It sets up on any floor surface and requires no infrastructure.

The Hook is the better choice when you need maximum portability or when a suitable hang point is already available.
