Materials and Construction

Cordura Laminate

X-Pac

X-Pac is a laminated composite fabric that bonds a ripstop face, an Aramid (Dyneema) cross-fiber layer, and a waterproof film backer. Plate Carriers: L4PC and Maritime L4PC

L4PC Plate Carrier

The L4PC is L4's standard-duty plate carrier, built for operators who need a full-featured system capable of extended operational wear. It holds SAPI plates from medium through XL, uses a structural cummerbund that actively distributes weight rather than simply holding the plates in place, and includes structural shoulder pads for comfort over long shifts.

Two features separate the L4PC from most comparable carriers. First, the front plate bag includes a patent-pending integrated compartment for a mobile device or tablet. This is not an afterthought accessory mount — it is a dedicated, closed compartment built into the bag structure, positioned for access without removing the carrier. Second, the rear plate bag includes patent-pending evacuation properties. In a casualty scenario, the carrier can be used as part of an evacuation system, allowing a single operator to drag an incapacitated person upright while maintaining situational awareness. Maritime L4PC

The Maritime L4PC is a dedicated amphibious and maritime carrier, optimized for environments where the standard L4PC would be suboptimal. It is lighter than the standard version and incorporates laser-cut drainage holes throughout the plate bags and cummerbund to allow water to exit immediately after immersion. The structural cummerbund uses First Spear Tube (FS Tube) closure hardware for rapid release in maritime emergencies.

Like the standard L4PC, the Maritime includes an integrated phone mount and PTT attachment points. The evacuation system is adapted for maritime use: lower webbing attaches to the user's belt, and the evacuation handle releases this webbing to allow upright dragging — redirecting extraction force to the belt rather than the neck, which is critical when the carrier is waterlogged and heavy. The Maritime accepts SAPI and swimmer cut plates in medium and large, and is compatible with Crye Precision AVS harnesses and L4 Tango module placards.

The Adaptive Rig System

The Adaptive Rig System (ARS) is L4's modular chest rig and placard platform. It is the backbone of L4's loadout ecosystem — a set of interchangeable components that can be configured as a standalone chest rig, a split-front chest rig, a micro rig, or a plate carrier placard, depending on what the mission requires.

ARS Bravo Module

The Bravo is the harness component of the ARS system. It connects the Tango modules to the user's shoulders and back, providing the structural support for a full chest rig configuration. It is also compatible with aftermarket yokes including the Crye Precision AVS harness, which allows L4 placards to be run on a Crye system without additional adapters.

ARS Tango Module

The Tango is the primary magazine-carrying module of the ARS system. It is 6 PALS wide with internal adjustable walls, loop-lined interior for inserts, shock cord retention, and hook velcro on the back for direct attachment as a plate carrier placard. Internal walls are adjustable to fit 5.56, 7.62, and .308 magazines. Two Tango modules can be attached side by side or stacked for greater capacity. The Tango module is the building block of every ARS configuration.

ARS Quad Module

The Quad is a compact quad-mag placard designed for minimalist loadouts. It holds four magazines and includes a stretch M4 insert, hook velcro backing for plate carrier use, and FS Tube compatibility. It can be combined with the ARS Bravo to form a compact chest rig, or used as a standalone placard on any carrier with a loop Velcro field.

RBT Special Bundle

The RBT Special Bundle is L4's ready-to-deploy ARS kit. It includes the Bravo harness, base Tango modules with 6 mag pouches, two additional double mag pouches, two large GP pouches, elastic triple M4 inserts, and all required hardware. It is the fastest way into a fully configured L4 rig without selecting individual components.

Chest Rigs: WCSIG and ULWCSIG

Alongside the modular ARS system, L4 produces two fixed-pouch chest rigs: the WCSIG and the ULWCSIG. Fixed-pouch rigs trade the reconfigurability of modular systems for a lower profile, faster access, and reduced total weight.

WCSIG Chest Rig

The WCSIG is L4's workhorse chest rig, built from laser-cut Cordura laminate for maximum durability. It carries four double mag pouches (each holding two 5.56, two 7.62x39, one .308, or a radio), two large GP pouches, and two radio pouches behind the GP pouches — the radio pouches can alternatively hold a 1L Nalgene or a pistol in an IWB holster. MOLLE webbing runs along the shoulder straps and sides for additional attachment points. The WCSIG is ARS compatible, meaning the standard shoulder straps can be replaced with the ARS Bravo yoke for an upgraded harness fit. Shock cords throughout are replaceable, extending the usable life of the rig indefinitely.

ULWCSIG Chest Rig

The ULWCSIG (Ultralight WCSIG) is the same layout as the WCSIG but built entirely from X-Pac material. It weighs 313 g — which is less than most individual mag pouches from lesser brands. Despite the weight reduction, it carries four double mag pouches, two large GP pouches, and MBITR or Nalgene pouches behind the GP pouches. It is DWR treated and inherently water resistant due to the X-Pac laminate. Load Carriage Assembly

The L4 Load Carriage Assembly (LCA) is a structured belt system designed for light to heavy loads, either as a standalone platform or integrated with body armor. It consists of a structured outer belt, removable loop-lined padding, and a yoke that distributes weight from the shoulders onto the hips.

The LCA uses an AustriAlpin Polymer Cobra buckle for the primary closure — a buckle standard used by military forces across NATO for its strength, reliability, and speed of operation. The inner padding is removable and compatible with aftermarket Velcro padding including Crye Precision inserts. A composite internal frame provides rigidity and prevents the belt from folding under heavy loads, which is a common failure point in non-structural belt systems.

A unique feature of the LCA is its layering capability. The outer frame can be used alone over bulky cold weather clothing, keeping pouches at the correct height relative to the body even when the operator is wearing multiple insulating layers. The roll-top closure provides a waterproof seal at the top opening while allowing variable capacity — pack light and roll it tight, or expand for longer missions. A full-length side zipper allows clamshell access to the main compartment. The interior is MOLLE-lined for organizing inserts or directly attaching pouches. Side pouches hold two 1-liter Nalgene or canteen pouches, and a signal panel or skrim pouch at the bottom keeps small flat items accessible. Bladder hose and cable routing is built in for hydration or communication setups.

The construction uses a mosquito net base for maximum breathability and bug protection, with NIR-compliant 3D leaf camo fabric attached throughout. An integrated zipper bug net covers the face when needed. A quarter-length top zipper allows access to radio systems and ATAK devices when worn over a plate carrier.
