Spiritus Systems Recovery Handle Mk2
The Spiritus Systems Recovery Handle Mk2 is a purpose-built casualty extraction system designed for emergency recovery in demanding tactical environments. Developed in collaboration with the Direct Action Resource Center (DARC), it provides a reliable and repeatable way to move an injured or incapacitated person out of immediate danger.
Unlike conventional drag handles that pull directly on the plate carrier, the Recovery Handle Mk2 is designed to transfer extraction forces to the casualty's hips. This helps prevent the plate carrier from riding up toward the face or restricting the airway during evacuation.
Its extended deployment strap also allows the rescuer to maintain a more upright posture, helping reduce fatigue and improve situational awareness.
Key Features
-
Hip-directed extraction force: Transfers pulling forces toward the casualty's hips rather than relying solely on the plate carrier.
-
Rapid deployment: Activates in seconds with a quick pull of the handle.
-
Extended extraction strap: Allows the rescuer to stand more upright during casualty movement.
-
Removable Tegris® stays: Provide structure while allowing the handle to deploy when needed.

Directional snap system: Releases under sufficient force for reliable deployment.
-
Integrated webbing storage: Keeps excess webbing contained for a clean, snag-resistant setup.
-
Resettable design: Easy to repack after deployment, making it suitable for repeated training.
-
MOLLE compatibility: Designed for the Spiritus Systems LV-120 Plate Carrier and compatible MOLLE-equipped vests.
Designed for Emergency Casualty Recovery
The Recovery Handle Mk2 offers a practical solution for casualty extraction in high-risk environments. Its design helps reduce the risk of the plate carrier shifting upward during evacuation while giving the rescuer a more effective pulling position.
The updated Mk2 features removable Tegris stays and directional snaps that release during deployment, helping ensure the system can be activated even when the wearer is incapacitated.
Compatibility
The Recovery Handle Mk2 mounts directly to the rear plate bag of the Spiritus Systems LV-120 Plate Carrier or a compatible MOLLE-equipped vest.
A suitable, load-rated carabiner is required to connect the system to the wearer's belt.
Important Information
The Recovery Handle Mk2 does not include a carabiner.
Spiritus Systems recommends the BFC carabiner, available separately. If using another carabiner, ensure it has an appropriate load rating and safety features.
