Developed at the direct request of a U.S. Army Special Warfare Group, the AV-14 is a rugged, low-profile FPV monocular engineered to survive the tempo of light infantry operations and to integrate natively into the equipment ecosystems those teams already carry.
Who Is Ascend ISR Systems?
Ascend ISR Systems was founded by a close network of aerospace defense engineers and mission specialists with backgrounds spanning advanced air defense, unmanned systems, and next-generation airborne platforms. Every platform they build starts with direct operator input from special operations and direct action units, and every system is validated through live operational deployment, not controlled demonstrations.
Ascend currently maintains a dedicated testing and operations group inside Ukraine, where each platform is fielded, evaluated, and refined in real time alongside the units relying on them. Their systems are in active use by irregular warfare units within NATO and special activities elements across Central Europe.
The AV-14 – Built Different
The AV-14 is machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum, the same alloy used in aircraft structures and high-end rifle components. It's not a consumer product with a mil-spec sticker. It's a purpose-built tool for professionals who operate drones in contested environments.
Integrated dovetails are machined directly into the housing, giving the AV-14 native compatibility with Wilcox G24 mounts, J-Arms, PanoBridges, and virtually all industry-standard PVS-14-style mounting systems. If your helmet already has a mount, the AV-14 goes straight on it.
Power comes from a single 18650 rechargeable battery or 2x CR123 batteries, a deliberate choice. No proprietary battery packs, no exotic charging systems. Five hours of continuous runtime from a cell you can source anywhere in the world.
Universal Analog Compatibility
The AV-14 is compatible with all analog FPV systems currently on the market. Plug it into whatever platform your team is running. Instantaneous boot-up means no waiting when it matters; flip the switch and you're live.
When paired with Ascend's upcoming aerial platforms, the AV-14 can also toggle on the fly between RGB and thermal views, giving drone operators a complete picture without switching hardware.
